    Description

Dating back to the early 1900s this was originally just a trading post with the Navajo of the area.  After World War 2 the motel and restaurant were added but this place still has a lot of its old time feel.
Located precisely where U.S. Highway 163 crosses the San Juan River, the San Juan Inn and Trading Post has long been an interesting stop for those traveling from Moab to the Monument Valley and beyond.  One of only a few buildings in Mexican Hat it is a motel, a restaurant, and a genuine trading post selling Native American wares from the surrounding craftspeople.
I bought this mug around 1990 when I stayed the night and enjoyed a very good breakfast at the San Juan Inn Restaurant.  I've
never used this mug or put it in the dishwasher.  It is still as new.  I'm fairly certain that it was NOT made by a Native American.
The mug stands 3 3/4 inches tall.  No damage.  No chips, cracks or scratches.
