    FINE ANTIQUE OUR HEROES 1861 - 1866 CIVIL WAR GENERALS MATCH SAFE SILVERPLATE
    Here is an antique silver plated match safe which reads: OUR HEROES 1861 - 1866. It has a depiction of three Civil War Generals including GRANT, LEE, and another (possibly Meade, or maybe President Lincoln). It has a very patriotic theme with and eagle, flags, scroll, and the U.S. flag. It measures 2 5/8" long x 1 5/8" wide x just under 1/2" thick. The cover hinge works fine, I cannot find a maker's mark., just needs some polishing. Was made as a momento in the years following the Civil War. Has been packed away for many decades in an old truck at a San Francisco estate. I have not polished, this piece is in great condition.
