    Description

Hello, this is a rare and unique, 100% authentic and original British movie poster.
This poster is a one sheet (approx. 40" tall by 27" wide, the UK size was slightly smaller than a US one sheet); that was made in the UK for the film's distribution to commonwealth countries. The poster was printed in England by Stafford & Co., Ltd., Netherfield, Nottingham; and London. This vintage movie theater poster actually dates from 1958 for the Lion International medical drama, "Behind the Mask". This well made hospital film told the story of a young doctor taking the fall for an older doctor who is negligent in his duties due to drug addiction that causes a patient's death.
The artwork features an intense close up of doctors in surgery, "behind their masks so to speak". This classic British movie starred Michael Redgrave (1984, The Lady Vanishes, Secret Beyond the Door, The Dam Busters); Tony Britton (Sunday Bloody Sunday, The Day of the Jackal, Operation Amsterdam); Carl Mohner (Sink the Bismark, The Key, Passionate Summer); Niall MacGinnis (Curse of the Demon, Martin Luther, Jason and the Argonauts); Lionel Jeffries (Camelot, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, First Men in the Moon) and Vanessa Redgrave (Blow-Up, Mission Impossible, Howards End) in her first film.
The poster shows some signs of use from theatre display and is overall in nice condition for now being 63 years old.
The paper on the poster has darkened a bit with age and yellowed slightly; there are a few small pieces of acid free, archival (white) tape on the poster to address some pin hole damage from years ago. There are a few small grease stains, some fold or border wear. There is some red ink transfer from the poster being folded years ago. Some erased pencil writing on the back, etc.. I would estimate that the poster is somewhere between the Very Good + to Fine+ condition ranges. Condition grades are subjective, so please study my photos to judge a condition grade for yourself. A couple of my pictures look blurry, it is my camara. The poster is not blurry.
The poster is sold as is from one collector to another. It would make a fabulous decoration on a home theater, den, doctor's office, man cave wall. Please take a look at my other movie theatre posters for sale.
It will be shipped very well packed, folded as issued and sent by Canada Post to the USA with tracking number and insurance for the sale price. Shipping cost is .00 USD.
