1882 Charles Rau V5 Observations on Cup-Shaped and other Lapidarian Sculptures

Up for auction from an estate is a rare copy of Observations on cup-shaped and other lapidarian sculptures in the Old World and in America by Charles Rau along with Rober Fletcher’s On Prehistoric Trephining and Cranial Amulets, Washington: G.P.O., 1882, and Cyrus Thomas’ A Study of the Manuscript Troano 1882.  There are many illustrations and tables along with four chromolithographs.  The contents are clean except for some top corner water stains on a few pages and the plates as shown.  The covers and spine are worn as shown, and there is a private library plate on the inside cover.  It was issued as volume V in the Contributions to American Ethnology series by the Government Printing Office.
