1825 C-2 Dbl Struck Classic Head Half Cent Coin 1/2c

Description

Double struck with one strike was centered on the planchet.The second strike was placed only the rim at the top of the obverse and the opposing rim at the bottom of the reverse. Elements of the bottom of the obverse show on the rim above the head and parts of the upper reverse show on the rim at the bottom of the reverse. A portion of the E in STATES is located on the rim off the end of the wreath ribbon and a bit of the F in OF can be found on the rim under the end of the wreath stem. Additional pieces of wreath leaves show on the rim between those two letters. A neat error.
